Cave Creek, Arizona is the northernmost town in the Northeast Valley. Its approximate borders are Black Canyon City to the north, New River to the northwest, Phoenix to the west and south, and Carefree and Scottsdale to the east. 

Cave Creek’s motto is “Preserving the Spirit of the Desert” and it certainly lives up to that claim. Some of Cave Creek’s unique amenities include Frontier Town, Cave Creek Museum, Grace Museum of America, and Wild at Heart raptor rescue organization. You will find riding stables, guided trail rides, jeep tours, and mountain bike shops to help you explore the vast wilderness that surrounds you. According to the Cave Creek Tourism Bureau this is “where the true cowboys live.”

The town’s large parks include:

2,922-acre Cave Creek Regional Park – a scenic desert destination offering winding multi-use trails for hikers and equestrians, campgrounds, picnic spots, and a nature center.

2,154-acre Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area – a very scenic area encompassing diverse, rugged upland Sonoran desert with numerous archaeology sites. It has public parking, a staging area, picnic tables and restrooms.

Gateway Desert Awareness Park – a family park with numerous tables and seating, ramadas, barbecues, fireplaces, shade structures, playground, volley ball, hiking, demonstration garden, amphitheater and education.

Black Mountain Summit Park with the Black Mountain Trail that goes to the top of the summit with beautiful views.

For golf enthusiasts, there is Dove Valley Golf Course, Tatum Ranch Golf Course and the Rancho Manana Resort with Rancho Manana Golf Club. Additionally, there are restaurants, businesses and shopping along the area’s main roads. 

The quaint town of Carefree, the Boulders Resort and Spa, the Boulders Golf Club, the spectacular Musical Instrument Museum (MIM), Desert Ridge Marketplace, JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort & Spa, and Mayo Clinic Hospital are all just a relatively short drive away.
