Carefree, Arizona is located in the Northeast portion of the Valley of the Sun with Black Mountain as a prominent landmark. Cave Creek is to the west and north, Scottsdale 85262 is to the east, and Scottsdale 85266 is to the south.

Carefree is a small, upscale community known for its whimsical street names such as Easy Street, Ho Hum Rd, Never Mind Trail, Nonchalant Ave, Lazy Lane and Huff N Puff Place, which intersects Breathless Dr. You can find all types of homes in Carefree, from a small condo for about $300,000 to a large estate for over $5,000,000. 

Carefree is known for its desert beauty with unusual rock formations and boulders rising above the cacti. The crown jewel of Carefree is the 4-acre Carefree Desert Gardens with its famous one-of-a kind Carefree Sundial, the Sanderson Lincoln Pavilion, a splash pad, playground, drinking fountains, and restrooms. Carefree’s other amenities include the historic Spanish Village, El Pedregal at the Boulders, a year-round farmers market on Friday mornings, two resort hotels with spas, and a variety of independently owned restaurants, shops and art galleries.

For outdoor enthusiasts there are 3 golf courses in Carefree – 2 at the Boulders Golf Club and 1 at the private Desert Forest Golf Club. For camping, hiking, biking, and horseback riding you can't beat Cave Creek Regional Park and Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area, both just a few miles away.

Carefree hosts several events throughout the year - Carefree Desert Garden Seminars (January – April), the Carefree Fine Art and Wine Festivals in January and March, the Community Block Party in April, and Christmas in Carefree in December.

The Western town of Cave Creek, the spectacular Musical Instrument Museum (MIM), Desert Ridge Marketplace, JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort & Spa, and Mayo Clinic Hospital are all just a relatively short drive away.
