Most of Rio Verde, Arizona is made up of the three 55+ active adult golf communities of Rio Verde, Tonto Verde, and Vista Verde, which are just 10 miles east of Scottsdale and 8 miles north of Fountain Hills. The rest of Rio Verde is comprised of single family homes, most of which are horse properties on lots larger than 1 acre.
All of the communities are located on the western edge of the lower Verde River, surrounded by pristine natural desert beauty and glorious mountain vistas with the McDowell Mountain Regional Parkto the southwest, the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation to the south, and theTonto National Forest to the north and east.
