Fountain Hills, Arizona is located at the base of the McDowell Mountains surrounded by the lush Sonoran Desert and gorgeous mountain views. Scottsdale is to the west on the other side of the McDowell Mountains, the McDowell Mountain Regional Park is located directly north, the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation is to the east, and the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community is to the south.
Fountain Hills is an upscale community known for its small town atmosphere and volunteerism. It has been ranked as the Number 1 "Best Place to Live" in the Valley of the Sun by Phoenix Magazine, and named Arizona's "Best Affordable Suburb" by Business Week.
Fountain Hills' many amenities include Fountain Park with its world famous fountain, excellent disc golf course, children's splash park and playground, walking paths, outdoor amphitheater, veterans' memorial, public art, and lakeside dining and shopping.
